RiPlay Playground
35-40 minutes drive from the house by car (Google Maps)
Here are experiences for children of all ages and their adults. There is room for movement, play, learning, and development.
Children can explore Riberhus Castle, climb the Storm Surge Column, soar like birds in the Wadden Sea area, have packed snacks or lunches in the Viking houses, and then climb Galgebakken. Or how about a ride on one of the park’s 20 roller coasters.
Here is also Northern Europe’s longest single-standing play universe, which is a 107-meter obstacle course.
All activities are surrounded by a 400-meter running track, as well as walking paths around the park.
The park is built of sustainable materials, such as fall protection and running tracks made from 24,000 recycled sports shoes.
UN Sustainable Development Goal No. 7 on sustainable energy is communicated and included in activities where children, among other things, can create energy to charge their mobile phones themselves. Esbjerg Municipality is the center of sustainable energy creation, and this is reflected in Riplay.
After a visit to Riplay, you may want to hear more about the Vikings, the Wadden Sea, the storm surge column, and witch burnings on Galgebakken. Fortunately, there are good opportunities for this at Ribe’s many museums for children and adults. A tour around Ribe town is an experience in itself. There are many good reasons to visit Ribe as a family.
Play and learn with us. We convey the city’s history through small sound clips at the various activities. QR codes lead to our website, Riplay.dk, where there are links to more stories about Ribe.
Riplay is open all year round, everything is free.
